When The Muses line by JAMIEshow Doll debuted in 2022, the concept of a hand painted, resin, fashion BJD in the 1/6 scale realized. The first waves of fashions, designed by Owensu, focused lavishly on haute couture fantasy and, in Dolldom's view, left a gap for styles that would lend themselves functional for the streets of reality. As the models needed clothing to perform their inherent duty, fashions made by Integrity Toys for their various lines of coded-as-male dolls became the building blocks for some successful styling opportunities.
Fast forward to 2025 and the latest JAMIEshow Muses collection, titled "Garden Party", offers two great options (Look 15 and Look 19) not only for wearing as designed, but also for their mix-and-match potential. As planning proceeded for this entry, Dodlldom's resident Muses' models decided to invite Integrity Toys' NU.Face No. 1 Lukas Maverick to be the model as a gracious gesture of gratitude. A perfect collab, we shall add.
No. 1 Lukas Maverickcomes from Integrity Toys' latest convention with a silver buzz cut that complements an effective-because-it-is minimal face-up that allows the strong sculpt to do all the talking.
Lukas arrived in the classic Pierre DeVries "High Elite" mechanic's jumpsuit.
Look 15's khaki shorts, tank top, and cap define urban chic. "Enchanted" Daniel digs the vibe.
Switching the cap for the look's motorcycle jacket and sunglasses pumps up the drama.
A quick change using Look 19's trousers gives the jacket and cap options for evening.
Look 19's grey trouser and vest pair well with the look's beige loafers. "Dangerous Love" Daniel approves.
Under the careful management of George González, the JAMIEshow Muses line features a handsome cast of coded-as-male, 1:6th scale, BJD characters made of beautifully matte resin and subtly hand painted countenances.
Dolldom appreciates the attention to detail both anatomical as well as structural that allows for a doll unlike any other in that scale in the market. The fashions offered by the company focus lavishly on the fantasy of current trends, but, luckily, the sobriety of a well-cut black suit has occurred twice since the line's inception. It is in this style, refreshing with the absence of shirts and combined with complementary garments by The Confusion83 and Integrity Toy's Fashion Royalty, that Dolldom constructs this October entry. From suits to jackets to underwear, it's a tribute to the severity of the color of the night, for it is at nighttime and amongst the shadows, that the Muses by JAMIEShow express their willingness to engage in the emotional maelstrom of the ultimate human pursuit.
The Human League's 1986 hit and sempiternal classic, "Human", beautifully contextualizes this photo portfolio.
Come on, baby, dry your eyes. Wipe your tears. Never like to see you cry. Won't you please forgive me?
I wouldn't ever try to hurt you,
I just needed someone to hold me,
To fill the void while you were gone, To fill this space of emptiness.
I'm only human,
Of flesh and blood I'm made.
Human,
Born to make mistakes.
So many nights I longed to hold you,
So many times I looked and saw your face
Nothing could change the way I feel,
No one else could ever take your place.
I'm only human,
Of flesh and blood I'm made.
Human, Born to make mistakes. (I am just a man) Human (Human) Please forgive me.
The tears I cry aren't tears of pain, They're only to hide my guilt and shame. I forgive you, now I ask the same of you, While we were apart, I was human too!
(Human, human)
I'm only human, Of flesh and blood I'm made (I am just a man!) Human, Born to make mistakes. (Human, human).
JAMIEshow Doll Muses continues its inspired presentation of 1/6 scale BJDs coded as male. Made of beautiful matte resin, the dolls' heft and articulation, paired with exquisitely detailed face-ups and body blushing, create a truly luxurious doll. The idea of offering separate wig caps increases play and fantasy value as who has not wanted to change hairstyles and hair colors to make an outfit really shine?
This entry is dedicated to "Dangerous Love" Orlando, one of the handsome characters of 2021. In looks styled from a variety of sources, Orlando is a scene stealer.

JAMIEshow Doll and The Muses line have introduced a character coded-as-male called Daniel. And he is a star. Based on the 16-inch iconic Lee, also by JAMIEshow Doll, Dangerous Love Daniel is -to cut to the chase- a hunk. The handsome face (in Dolldom's opinion, Daniel / Lee is the most handsome representation of an Asian male countenance with a serene gaze, strong nose, and pulpous lips) has translated beautifully to 1/6 scale and adjustments to the body sculpt, such as more defined pectoral muscles, convey an undeniably strong physicality. Detailed hands and feet (both with separate digits) allow for the wearing of rings and sandals.
The Muses line, designed by OwenSu, offers an inspired selection of couture to make the Muses realize their fashion model destinies. Still Dolldom invited Dangerous Love Daniel to play and style a series of looks with elements taken from Integrity Toy's Fashion Royalty Hommes, The Monarchs, and NuFace lines. Daniel was glad that the fit was excellent every time and no alterations were required. This said, the JAMIEshow Doll Muses' foot sculpt is a tad bigger making shoe fitting minimally more laborious but still possible.
Dolldom looks forward to the future of this line for it's exciting to find 1/6 dolls coded-as-male as beautifully rendered (in velvety, matte resin and with hand painted face-ups and body blushing) as Daniel. At its 450.00 dollar price point, Daniel is a high-end acquisition that is worth every cent.
Wish list? Absolutely. Dolldom gives kudos to JAMIEshow Doll and OwenSu for their commitment to diversity and is hopeful that in the very near future a coded-as-male Black doll character will join the ranks of The Muses. Additionally, a selection of boots and thong sandals, along with separates to mix-and-match would enhance the play possibilities of these remarkable creations.
