Summer Bounty

Just as summer starts to wind down and the prospect of fall becomes ever present in the morning air, Good Old Summertime Amber by Wilde Imagination takes us back to the pleasant sensations of a summer picnic. Good Old Summertime Amber immediately caught the eye of Dolldom's editors with it's 1930's style flower print dress, raven bob, and piercing blue eyes framed in lush black eyelashes. The straw hat adds a touch of Mary Emmerling to this sophisticated gal - not to mention a necessary respite from the harsh sun rays.

Amber is a sensational sculpt. Ellowyne's beautifully serene face with a hint of smile betrays her mood swing syndrome. Amber's pout, on the other hand, does not hide her attitude. Even in the midst of a peaceful secret garden with friendly insects and petrified birds, Ellowyne's nemesis still has an air of temperamental volatility.  But such is the world of Ellowyne Wilde.

Savoring Summertime

It's summer! And summertime, with its warm long days, invites us all to indulge the senses. And what better way to do so than with a scoop of ice cream, gelatto, or frozen yogurt?

Dolldom darlings and San Francisco citizens Ellowyne, Prudence, Amber, and Lisette by Wilde Imagination visited our studios recently to pose for an ice-cream inspired photo session wearing new fashions that due to their beautiful colors and fabrics, make our mouths water - in both the literal and metaphorical ways - as Dolldom's editors' synesthesia  (a psychological disorder in which stimulus in one sense, for example, olfactory, triggers a visual experience) induces them to taste hues as well as textures.

Our first flavor is Satin Sheen Prudence (Limited Edition of 500) who with her pale blonde hair, green eyes, and satin brocade dress over a pink slip makes us think of Bi-Rite Creamery's combination of basil, ginger and golden caramel ice creams.

Our second flavor is Satin Shimmer Amber (Limited Edition of 1,000) who with her red hair, blue eyes, and light green satin brocade dress with lace sleeves, matching netting slip, and lace stockings reminds us of La Copa Loca Gelato's refreshing two-scoop combo of green tea and thyme gelati.

Our third flavor is Lisette wearing the outfit Just Peachy (Limited Edition of 1,000). The sleeveless dress with flirty skirt hem and multicolored jacket with a lace trimmed collar and jeweled buttons make us taste Mitchell's Ice Cream's cantaloupe and peach ice creams - only available in the summer.






A day of therapy - well it makes me wonder
When a breakthrough may come - and I steal my own thunder;
Dr. B says 'don't worry - your day will come'
So I dress in JUST PEACHY - and stop feeling so glum!



We close this fashion and epicurean fantasy with Soft Sigh Ellowyne (Limited Edition of 1,000) who in her rhubarb velvet lace overlay dress, beaded necklace and hat makes us taste MoYo's Froyo's taste-bud-exploding mix of lychee, strawberry and pomegranate frozen yogurts.

Ellowyne's Despair: Make It Grand!

Where else but in Dolldom does a beautiful young woman get to match her every mood with a new look? Ellowyne Wilde's Grand Despair, Too is perhaps one of the grandest attempts at translating the young fashion plate's chronic case of ennui into iconic glamour. Mixed in this classic black on black design are hints of 1890's romanticism, an air of Adrian's mythical draping, a drop or two of 1980's fabulous fashion excesses, and more than a dash of Rachel, the legendary character played by Sean Young in Ridley Scott's cult film The Blade Runner.


A dramatic chiffon and lace top boasts tone-on-tone beading and glittery puff sleeves over a shirred detailed velvet skirt with a back satin ribbon bow.


Oscar de la Renta's sleeves echo the lines of Grand Despair Too's black puffs.


Alexis Carrington, played ever-so-wickedly by Joan Collins, indulges in black puff sleeves.


And so does this olive silk gown, circa 1890's. 




MGM's Adrian knew how to drape on the glamour.

Kudos must also be given to the designer of Ellowyne's hairstyle.
 It worked for Sean Young's Rachel back in 1982 and it was about time that it was revisited. Who better than Ellowyne to model it?


Inset blue eyes, applied lashes, hand-painted features and platinum rooted hair, styled to rock any science fiction flick.




Ellowyne has a beautiful pale skin tone and delicate vintage-inspired earrings.

It's A Small World

Atomic. Minute. Small. Miniature. Lilliputian. Regardless of the terminology, there is a magical quality to the minuscule doll. Luckily for Dolldom, Wilde Imagination ventures into the world of small dolls with the same sense of creative wonder that yields bountiful harvests with Ellowyne Wilde and Evangeline Ghastly. With Amelia Thimble and her friends Izzy and Hamish, Wilde Imagination opens up a new way to imagine and to play, for these characters are meant to inhabit the human world and live inside a sewing kit.



In this exclusive feature, Dolldom welcomes Hamish, Amelia's newest friend. His expressive face boasts soulful inset eyes and hand painted features. At only four inches, it's not difficult to be amazed by the highly detailed sculpt and evocative expression of this little ball-jointed resin lad. His twelve points of articulation allow for precise posing  - and most amazingly -  no need for a stand. Master Hamish can stand on his own, a truly laudable characteristic, no matter if taken literally or figuratively.

Wilde Imagination offers several different styles, all designed by Joe Petrollese, (even a tiny Peter Pan for Amelia's Tinkerbell) each one more fanciful that the other and all promising hours of fun. The perfect travel doll, Hamish will pose for photos in the big outdoors, sneak into the most popular museum galleries in your coat's pocket, and enliven an otherwise boring flight.




Hamish comes dressed in an outfit featuring a striped bodysuit, denim overalls with buttons, knit hat with pom-pom, and matching shoes. His favorite wooden toy train is also included. He is a limited edition of 300 dolls.
