The Girl from Ipanema

Summertime...and the living is easy. Sometimes all it takes to experience that oft-touted summer vibe is to listen to a favorite song sipping a favorite drink while watching the sun set.

One of Dolldom's favorite tunes is "The Girl from Ipanema", written by Antonio Carlos Jobim with lyrics by Vinicius De Moraes (translation by Norman Gimbel).

Dolldom honors this classic performed by Astrud Gilberto, João Gilberto and Stan Getz with a special portfolio featuring two very special Joey Versaw's Meadow dolls. Meadow, based on the drawings of Edmond Kiraz, captures the zeitgeist of the 1960s modeling a selection of fashions by Integrity for Poppy Parker, Mattel for Francie, and Engadered Sissy for Blythe

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes
Each one she passes goes, "Ah"
When she walks, she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gently
That when she passes
Each one she passes goes, "Ah"
Oh, but he watches her so sadly
How can he tell her he loves her?
Yes, he would give his heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at he

Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, he smiles
But she doesn't see
Oh, but he sees her so sadly
How can he tell her he loves her?
Yes, he would give his heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at him
Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, he smiles
But she doesn't see...

She just doesn't see
No, she doesn't see
But she doesn't see
She doesn't see
No, she doesn't see...
