A 1960's Love Affair

Tonight marks the end of an era: AMC's Mad Men commences its last season. To mark the event, Dolldom decided to style one of it's most beautiful stars to evoke the feeling of the era so precisely depicted for seven seasons on this flawlessly written, paced, and acted drama.

So how to pay homage to the 1960's? The right model is a must. She will be channeling a heady combination of vibes: Bettie, Joan, Megan, Peggy, even Sally who's all grown-up. Enter JAMIEShow's 2012 Winter Season Eshe with strong eye make-up boasting peacock-blue eyeshadow to compliment her sapphire-blue eyes. The master stroke has to be the assertive application of indigo eyeliner to her upper lid. The look is perfect for her contemporary fur and brocade style and hard cap bob wig by Ilaria Mazzoni for Time of Doll.

But it ain't Mad Men style!  Enter Retros by Liz Cole and another wig by Ilaria Mazzoni for Time of Doll. And suddenly Eshe becomes the essence of 1960s chic.

Retros' vintage brocade sheath is slinky and slender.

The fake cigarette (just like in the show) is a cute prop, also by Retros.

Viva Mad Men!

  3. These photos are superb! Love both looks, though if I had to choose one over the other, it would be the second look. That wig is stunning, and I love the dress and jewelry.

I have a few of the JS dolls, though Eshe isn't one of them. I wish the 12" version had this face up, because I would buy her in a heartbeat.

    1. Thank you, Troy! I also find the second look more in my preference, well in Dolldom's preference for all styles vintage. The Demi version has a dramatic and versatile face-up. This one is much more specific to the clothing she originally wore. But I agree, a DC Eshe with this face-up would be a total must!
