Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away...

Evoking time travel, this favorite phrase of those who live enchanted by fantasy inspires many a Dolldom entry. To the harmonious blending of past and present, a promise of absolute beauty - unadulterated, timeless, yet evolved - is born.

Les rêves d'un garçon's Soo captivated our eyes and hearts with her realistic and unique face. Looking like no other doll her size, Soo impresses with her mesmerizing gaze and slightly parted lips about to utter... Her secret stays with us.

What we will divulge is the origin of the couture she models. In line with the story land theme, Dolldom's editors loved the way Soo portrays the ultimate poupée mannequin - one who brings the past to the present and makes it look avant garde and  visionary. For these designs by Tonner Doll Company are nothing but. But then again, it takes a beauty like Soo to make us appreciate the past once again today.

Cuando baila el cha-cha-chá...

It's time for maracas, mambo and a whole lot of cha-cha-chá. In a sea of Manhattans, Negronis, and Cuba Libres a spotlight shines on the stage. From behind cerise velvet curtains, Miss Abbé Lane emerges as Cugie gets the band going. Let the night be eternal when in the company of these two geniuses of song.

In 2012 Superdoll Collectables London launched the release of the Abbé Lane doll in Milan. It did not surprise Dolldodm that the creators of the Sybarites would choose the unforgettable-but-not-commonplace Miss Lane for their foray into the world of retro style. Released through Marl B, "Wolf Whistle" and "You, Devil, You" models boast a superb character sculpt with varying degrees of intensity in their gazes. Regardless of the style, each doll exudes sex-kitten magic and makes the heart skip a beat. To boot, photos of other mouth-watering one-of-a-kind dolls wearing Superdoll's vintage flavored couture fed Dolldom's desire to extend the fantasy evening with Cougat and Lane.

Much to Dolldom's luck, Miss Liz Cole, creator of Retros, was excited to create cha-cha dresses inspired by several of Miss Lane's record covers. The spiritual daughter of Monsieur Lesage and Betty Page, Miss Cole beaded five skin-tight wonders with her customary abandon, producing real tours de force of mambo style. Both Abbé Lane models were ecstatic to model them.

Dolldom wishes to thank Miss Cole for her creative genius as well as Marl Davidson, Franklin Lim-Liao, and Tommy Courtney for inspiring and supporting the production of this feature.

¿Quién te lo dijo nené? Me lo dijo Adela cuando baila el cha-cha-chá.
